Gateway* Reviews
Local Partnerships are accredited by the OGC to provide Gateway Reviews to local government. Procurement programmes and projects in local government have been able to benefit from Gateway Reviews since April 2003. The Gateway Review process examines a project at critical stages in its lifecycle to provide assurance that it can progress successfully to the next stage. The process is recognised as adding significant value - the National Procurement Strategy recommends that it be adopted for all new projects. It is also a key enabler assumed in the Gershon Efficiency Review.
There are six Local Partnerships Gateway Reviews available during the lifecycle of a project; four before contract award, and two looking at service implementation, and confirmation of the operational benefits. A project is reviewed using the Local Partnerships Gateway Review workbook appropriate to the point reached in its lifecycle. The process emphasises early review for maximum added value.
The Gateway Process has been designed to support projects that procure services, construction/property, IT-enabled business change projects and procurements utilising framework contracts.
